Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from Pharaoh's Daughter: An Anthropological Drama, on the Plan of the Mystery and Parable Play
Though we have placed an extract from a well known work on Egypt of the highest authority on our title page, it is not to be inferred that we have taken it as the text or starting-post of the case we have essayed to make in favour of Herodotus or that we consider it as endorsing our argument, for that is deduced partly from Herodotus, partly from the Hebrew and Christian Scriptures, partly from the Koran, partly from the ancient monuments, partly from data found in and near the banks of the Nile, and partly from facts found in other parts of Africa, in Asia, in Europe, and some found even in America.
