WordNet is an on-line lexical reference system whose design is inspired by current psycholinguistic theories of human lexical memory. The CD-ROM, which includes both Macintosh and PC versions, contains the WordNet 1.6 system and the Semantic Concordance package. Version 1.6 contains the WordNet database, browser software, source code and documentation.;It installed on a system's hard drive, the WordNet database requires at least 22MB of disk free space; installation of optional index files increases the requirement to 33MB. The PC version of the browser runs under Windows 3.1, Windows 95, and Windows NT. A command line interface runs under DOS. The Macintosh version runs on both Power Mac and 68K series systems. An additional 14MB of disk space is required to intall the Semantic Concordance package on either system.
