Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Livestock and Meat Situation: December 1948
These current and prospective increases in hog production are largely responses to the very big corn cr0p of last fall which became apparent during the good growing season and which was accompanied by declining corn prices. Prices have recently been under the average loan value of per bushel, and the hog-corn ratio has been favorable to hog producers.
