Publisher's Synopsis
Excerpt from The Feed Situation, Vol. 53: December 1943
Loan rates on the 19u3 corn crop. Effective December 1, are about 8 cents per bushel higher than the rates for the l9h2 crop in the Corn Belt. Loan rates outside the Corn Belt are 2 to 27 cents per bushel higher than last season. However, current loan values are below prevailing prices and it is likely that little corn will be placed under loan this season.
In a move to improve the distribution of Oilseed cake and meal, the War Food Administration ordered 20 percent of the cake and meal produced in January to be set aside for directed distribution. Meal made available on a voluntary basis in December will be credited against the requirements for individual processors in January.
