On peut le diviser en deux parties bien distinctes, à peu prés égales en étendue celle de l'est, basse et sablonneuse; celle de l'ouest, très - haute, constamment battue des grands vents, couverte de glaciers, de pics cbauves, de rochers abrupts, de neiges éternelles.
