Publisher's Synopsis

Grandad Remembers "With a little help from the occasional scotch" John is a man fast approaching his eightieth birthday. He lives in a retirement village with his wife Vicky. John and Vicky were teenage sweethearts and married when he was nineteen and she was eighteen. They have been together in a marriage of over sixty years. The couple had five children which has resulted in fourteen grandchildren and twenty one great-grandchildren, (at last count). Vicky reckons that John is a creature of habit. He gets up at the same time each morning, has his meals at the same time each day and on most afternoons at four o'clock he pours himself a scotch with ice and dry-ginger ale. This he takes to the back patio. The view from the patio looks through a few trees towards the entrance of Queens Lake. There is always plenty of active bird life, fishermen on the lake and in the summer months, a cool north easterly breeze creates a pleasant place to sit and relax and remember.
